They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his advice, but drifted on greed in the wilderness, and tempted God in solitude. (Psalm 106:13-14 KJV)

When we read the history of Israel we can see that Christians today make the same mistakes. Psalm 106 gives a brief summary of the passage of Israel through the desert in their deliverance from Egypt.

Straight out of Egypt face the Red Sea. Come despair, prayer and the miracle of Moses Sea opening and drowning the Egyptians. After a party to praise God. And after three days (Exodus 15.22-24) in the wilderness the people forgot all the miracles that God had done so far and again comes the despair, the prayer of Moses and the miracle, and so on. It was not long, only three days. This is much like us today.

But one thing I called attention to Psalm 106.13. We can see that in the desert of life we will encounter some bifurcations where we have to choose either the Council or the Lord carried away by the greed of the Desert. Behold I set before you blessing and curse (Deut 11:26 ARC). At this point many have chosen not knowing the curse. Today we see basically two kinds of people in the church. Let us separate a little to understand.

Those who get carried away by the greed of the desert: Are those who choose their own purposes and God delivers them to their fate. Result: He gave them their desire, but sent leanness to your soul. (Psalms 106:15 KJV). These are people who seek a kingdom of this world. Just think of the satisfaction of his own desires and think this is the glory of God. To believe that because they have thrived in their petitions, are on track. Some have seen his soul to be dwindling.

Those who choose the Council of the Lord are those who understand that the Kingdom of God needs faithful subjects of King and committed to seek to understand what God's purpose for your life within the collective plan of God for mankind. Never separate. Abandon their dreams to live the dream of God as Solomon did in the beginning of his reign ( Click here to read about ). After all, if we got here was at the expense of men and women who did not overlook the will of God and committed their lives to live God's purpose. People who have been burned, devoured by lions, beheaded, etc., because they preferred the Council of the Lord. The world today needs new Elijah and John the Baptist who dared to confront the rulers of their times. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death. (Rev 12:11 KJV)

It is not always easy to make the right choice, because there is much at stake. But it is necessary. Let us be brave and make the right choice. May Jesus bless your life!
