God Opens The Door, Close Nobody (III)

portas abertas

"I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door that no man can shut; a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name." (Rev. 3:8)

Now let's see how you enter the door following the example of Jacob after the episode in which deceives his father Isaac (Genesis 27), he flees from his brother Esau that the threat of death. At this point, Jacob goes to Padan-Aram, and to spend the night at Bethel, he had a dream. And behold, the LORD stood above it, and said: I am the Lord God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac: the land on which you lie I will give unto thee and thy seed and thy seed shall be as dust of the earth, and will extend to the west and the east, and north and south, and in thee and in thy seed shall be blessed all the families of the earth, and behold I am with thee, and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring thee again into this land: why not leave thee, until I have done what I have spoken (Genesis 28:13-15).

This is a port (promise, word of God) the Lord opened the life of Jacob He worked 20 years for his uncle and father in law Laban. After this period, the angel of God in a dream that speaks to return to the land of their fathers (Genesis 31:11-13)

So to leave for their land, Jacob sent messengers ahead to check on the minds of his brother Esau by sending him gifts. The answer was not very nice, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him (Genesis 32:6). Esau was coming to perform as promised revenge.

Since then hangs up a spiritual battle in the life of Jacob Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that were with him, and the sheep, and cows, and camels, into two bands. (Genesis 32:7)

Despite the fear, he gathered the strength to pray to the Lord. Our basic text says, a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. The little strength occurs at the time of anguish, of fear. It's time to practice what we have learned about the Word of God. I am the door: whoever enters through me will be saved, and go in and out and find pasture (John 10:9). But at that time, many fail because they do not pray, do not seek God. Jacob did three important things:

Lomadee, a new species on the web. The largest platform of affiliates in Latin America

  1. He put the word, has not forgotten the promise: Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and the God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me thou on thy land and thy kindred, and make thee well. (Genesis 32:9)

And thou hast said, will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, the crowd can not be counted. (Genesis 32:12)
[Promises of Genesis 31:13 and 28:13-15]

  2. He did not deny the name of the Lord: Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and the God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me thou on thy land and thy kindred, and make thee well, (Genesis 32:9)

  3. It was sincere: - Deliver me, I pray thee, my brother's hand, the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, the mother with the children. (Genesis 32:11)

We can say that Jacob walked through the door and saved himself the wrath of his brother who came to kill him. When the word of God is put into practice, situations change. And that's what happened: And Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck, and kissed him, and wept. (Genesis 33:4)

The outcome could have been different if Jacob was forgotten the promises of God. Unfortunately there are many who, like Jeroboam, forget the words that God has spoken. And so they are suffering the consequences. Do not forget: behold, set before thee an open door that no man can shut. Do not close the open door that God has for you!
